The most common factor that preceeds sinusitis is upper respiratory infection (the common cold). Nasal allergies and other factors that induces swelling or inflammation of the mucous membrane may precede the viral infection and therefore result in sinusitis.

Vitamins and minerals useful for sinusitis

  • Vitamin C: sinusitis is an inflammation. Therefore, taking a supplement of vitamin C is a good choice, having potent anti-inflammatory properties.
